It Begins… Finally.

After more than a year of driving our families crazy, we’ve finally started planning our wedding. We have many details to sort out, but we know it’ll be taking place on August 2, 2014. The reception will be in the nearly 120-year-old Globe Building in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square. We’ll be posting updates throughout the planning and preparation process, as well as adding details about things to do here in Seattle. Please feel free to add your own suggestions if you have any by commenting on the pages on this site.

If you’re wondering where the name of our website comes from, I suggest you check out this amazing book and movie.

  1. Love it! Can we come in costume??? I want to be Miracle Max & Lea will (of course) have to come as Valerie(his pugnacious wife!)

  2. Amazing website, guys. I know it’s not, like, a competition, so it’s not like you’ve BEAT US at making a wedding website or anything, haha. Ha.

  3. Ahh, yes a favorite in our household! Paulie loves to quote the Princess Bride and it was fun to hear him talk about the book and movie with our foster child, Levi. Levi’s teacher used the Princess Bride for novel study in his Lit class! The whole gang got into it….all my knights in shining tights!!!! LOL….can’t wait!

  4. happily have travel and house-stay secured, however I have never (to my knowledge) used your gift paying option and have spent 2 visits there rejected on the basis of my password and/or pin#………..

    1. I just tried it and it is a lot bigger pain in the ass than I experienced before… Let me think about other options.

    2. We have decided to switch to paypal.com. You can send donations to us at johnandcourtney@jtshaw.com using their site. Dwolla changed their interface pretty substantially from when I created the account and I found it nearly impossible to use in its current state…

    3. Jo, Sorry about the inconvenience! As John commented, Dwolla drastically changed their user experience (which made it more or less impossible to use, as you discovered) so we’ve fully transitioned over to PayPal. Let us know if you have any problems. All the best, Courtney
